Alice Stevenson (10 July 1861 – 18 August 1973)[1] was born at Piccadilly, England and became a British supercentenarian. She was the oldest recognised living person in the world between the death of 112-year-old Josefa Salas Mateo on 27 February 1973 and Stevenson's own death, aged 112 years 39 days when she died at Sutton, England.[2] This made her the oldest Briton ever.[1][3] Her record was broken by Anna Eliza Williams on 12 July 1985.[4] Stevenson was the last remaining documented person born before 1863.[5][6][7][8][9]
